Rocky Mountain Highway Presents: The 2024 Steve Harris Songwriter of the Year Contest

The Rocky Mountain Highway is proud to present an opportunity for aspiring young songwriters to showcase their talent!
- Songwriters 18 years old and under write and perform their own original song
April 25, 2024– Extended to May 8- Winners will be announced and perform Friday, May 24, 2024, at the MeadowGrass Music Festival

Contest Specifics:
- Your song must be original and performed by you.
- All music genres are welcome.
- 1 song only @ 5 minutes or less.
- There are two age categories: 13-18 years of age ($500 prize) & 12 years of age and under ($350 prize). Each category will have an honorable mention.
- All contestants plus 1 guest get into MeadowGrass free on May 24. We also offer half-price weekend tickets to contestants immediate family.
- All submissions will be anonymous to the judges. Each judge will receive copies of the recordings without personal identifying information. Please do not introduce yourself in the video. Stating the name of your song is great though.
- Judges will receive a scoring sheet for use in evaluation. Your song will be judged on the following categories: melody, lyrics, originality, and overall effect.
- The questions on the contest form must be answered and submitted with your song. These questions will not be included in the judges evaluation and are for organizational purposes only.
