Everything you need to know…

About Meadowgrass 2016:

Start the festival season off right with one of Colorado’s most eclectic music festivals, held annually over Memorial Day weekend at beautiful La Foret Conference & Retreat Center in Black Forest. Located between Colorado Springs and Denver, MeadowGrass is the perfect getaway for families and music lovers. The festival will feature performances from more than 20 national, regional and local artists, music workshops, yoga, kids’ activities, and camping. Join us to discover why MeadowGrass has been named “Best Music Festival” by readers of the Colorado Springs Independent year after year. The complete lineup will be announced in February 2016.

What is the refund policy?

The festival takes place rain or shine; tickets are non-refundable.

When do early bird ticket sales end?

Early bird ticket sales end on February 29, 2016 or when the allotted number of each ticket type is sold out, whichever comes first.

What are my transport/parking options for the event?

ALL motor vehicles entering La Foret must present a valid parking pass in order to come on to the property, with the exception of vehicles that contain four or more adult ticket holders (age 13 and older). Children 12 and under do not count toward free carpool parking. Parking on-site is extremely limited due to our efforts to preserve the central meadow at La Foret. There is no free remote parking option at La Foret this year. If you do not have a valid parking pass, you will not be permitted to drive on to the festival property. You must affix your parking sticker to your windshield. Vehicles without a valid parking pass will be towed. Parking is assigned on a space available basis. VIP tickets include preferred parking at no extra charge.

When do the gates open?

The front gates will open at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27 for vendors (with a valid parking pass) to come in and set up. Campers may enter the property (with a valid parking pass) at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27. Non-campers may enter beginning at noon on Friday, May 27. The gates will open at 9:30 a.m. to everyone on the mornings of Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29. No entry is permitted after 9:00 p.m.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

The festival is an all-ages event. However, EVERY person entering La Foret must have a valid ticket with a bar code to be scanned at the entrance or an authorized wristband (for re-entry). This includes vendors, volunteers, staff, and artists. If you do not have a valid ticket, you must purchase one or you will be turned away at the front gate. Children age 12 and younger may obtain child passes at no charge. Please keep your wristband(s) on at all times. There is no re-entry without the proper wristband.

Can I bring my pet?

Pets are not permitted at MeadowGrass, with the exception of qualified service animals. Please contact us in advance at info@rockymountainhighway.org or (719) 776-9800 if you plan to bring a service animal to the festival.

What can/can’t I bring to the event?

Outside alcohol is absolutely prohibited within the main festival grounds as a requirement of our special event permit. Food and non-alcoholic beverages may be brought into the festival grounds, but coolers are prohibited out of respect for our food vendors. Our vendors offer a diverse selection of delicious foods and beverages and we encourage you to sample their offerings. You will be required to show proper identification to purchase alcoholic beverages – please drink responsibly. Alcohol purchased at the festival may not leave the festival grounds. Glass containers (with the exception of official MeadowGrass souvenir mugs) are prohibited on the festival grounds. Violence and weapons of any type, including firearms, are absolutely prohibited at MeadowGrass.

Is smoking permitted at the festival?

Rocky Mountain Highway and La Foret are committed to producing a safe and family-friendly MeadowGrass Music Festival. Smoking in the Festival Grounds as well as in the camping area is restricted to Designated Smoking Areas only. Please dispose of cigarette butts in the appropriate containers. There is no smoking inside any buildings. This includes cabins, yurts, bathroom facilities and all other buildings. No smoking is permitted under the Festival tent at any time, including electronic cigarettes and vapor devices. Smoking of electronic and vapor devices is permitted on the festival grounds in designated smoking areas, away from families. Although it is now legal to purchase and consume cannabis products privately in Colorado, the use of marijuana in public remains illegal. Therefore, the public consumption of marijuana or any other illegal drug is prohibited at La Foret.  Please be mindful of this and respect those around you. Failure to comply with Festival policies may result in removal from the Festival without refund. Please help us protect the forest from fire danger and our children from exposure to second-hand smoke by obeying these rules.

How does camping work?

Each camper who presents a valid weekend pass with camping will receive a wristband that authorizes his or her right to remain on the property overnight. If you do not have a camping wristband, you will not be permitted to stay overnight. Camp hosts will meet campers in the campground and direct them to appropriate camping spots. NO parking or driving more than 5 feet off the roads. This means you cannot drive up to your campsite unless that campsite is right next to the road if you paid for parking. If there are no parking places near your chosen campsite, you will be directed to a parking place on site but not necessarily near your camp. Premium camping is available at a higher cost, located in a smaller area closest to the festival grounds with private portable toilet facilities provided.

Can I bring my RV?

Only five RV spots are available for vehicles longer than 18′. There are no hook ups. Camper vans that are 18’ or less in length are allowed at La Foret. If you wish to sleep in your qualifying camper van, you must first obtain a weekend pass with camping for yourself and any other person staying with you and then purchase a weekend parking pass. There is no guarantee that your car will be parked near the camping area – camper vans will be parked on a space available basis.

Are campfires allowed at La Foret?

All campfires, cooking fires and open fires are prohibited at La Foret. Propane cook stoves and propane campfires are permitted.

Is seating provided for the concerts?

Chairs are not provided at MeadowGrass. You are welcome to bring your own blankets and camp chairs, but we ask that any high-clearance chairs (i.e., if a basketball can fit underneath) be placed only at the back of the main festival tent. Low chairs are permitted closer to the front, but please do your part to make sure that you are not blocking the view of the people behind you. Tents are not permitted in the main festival tent.

How should I prepare for the weather?

MeadowGrass is held each year, rain or shine. No refunds will be given for any weather-related cancellation or problem. Springtime weather in the Rockies is notoriously unpredictable – you may encounter rain, sun, wind or even some snow. We recommend that you come prepared with sunscreen, a rain jacket and warm clothing for night time. Dress in layers!

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Please e-mail info@rockymountainhighway.org or call (719) 776-9800 if you have questions.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Every person entering La Foret must present a ticket to be scanned, either in printed form or on a working device.

Are there any hotels or other lodging nearby?

Off-site lodging is available near Interstate 25 at the Interquest Parkway and Monument exits.
